Something about the color blue
Brings images of winter to mind
The stark blue-gray of an overcast sky
The misty blue of a mountain range
The shadowy blue-green of forest pines
The icy blue of a frozen lake
The frosty blue of drifted snow
The twinkling blue of a child’s bright eyes
The flashing blue of a toboggan run
The toasty blue of a cocoa mug
The inviting blue of Grandma’s warm quilt
The midnight blue of a star sprinkled sky
Where a bleu-cheese moon carries winter dreams
Into the waiting blues of spring
