JULY 2023 -- Time Travel

When . . .

Verdant valleys spread their shoulders

And hidden lakes were cold and deep

Bald eagles circled on the thermals

And shaggy bison found sweet grass

Forests climbed the mountain ridges

And clouds caressed those lofty peaks

There came a sense of freedom

With each deep refreshing breath

The past is not the present

But the present has its gifts

Embrace ancestral yearning

Set your compass to explore

There are still places waiting

To take us back in time
